CDBurnerXP
CDBurnerXP is a very good alternative to commercial burning software. Features: Over 30 integrated language files, burn CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW und DVD-RW data disks, burn On-the-Fly (direct copy from e.g. DVD drive to CD writer), multi-session data discs, create bootable CDs, create and burn ISO Images, Burn-Proof. Burn audio and mp3 CDs. Supported audio formats: WAV, MP3, Ogg and WMA. The latest Windows Media Player, the latest Windows Media Format and .NET Framework 2.0 (or higher) is required to get full WMA support. The first two components should already be installed on your machine if you use Automatic Updates. You can get the .NET Frameworks thru the Microsoft Update Website if you chose User Defined Search - Additional and Optional Software, respectively.

Five very good burning applications for Linux:
Xfburn is the default burning application of Xfce.
Brasero is the default burning application of GNOME.
GnomeBaker is IMHO the best burner for GNOME.
K3b (default under KDE) and CD Bake Oven for KDE.
InfraRecorder
With InfraRecorder you can burn normal data disks (DAO = Disc-at-once) and multi-session data discs (SAO = Session-at-once), direct copies (On-the-Fly), ISO-Images (ISO and BIN/CUE images), bootable CDs, audio CDs (WAV, MP3, OGG, ISO und WMA), mixed-mode (data/audio) and dual-layer DVDs. Approx. 40 languages are already integrated.

ImgBurn is a really good burning application which can burn Audio-CDs, Data-CDs, DVD Video-CDs, HD-DVD Video-CDs, Blue-Ray Video-CDs, bootable Data-CDs and multi-session discs. Burn Images (ISO, BIN, IMG, CUE, NRG, DVD, DI, GI, MDS und PDI) or create image files from an existing disc. Burn Audio-CDs from MP3, MP4, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC, APE, M4A, MPC, PCM, WV and WMA.
Compatible with Windows 9x, ME, NT4, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, Windows 7, all 64-bit Versions and with the use of Wine also with Linux and other x86 based, UNIX similar Systems like Free-BSD.
