Short explanation Open Source Software
The difference between usual Freeware and Open Source Software is, that the source code is available for everyone and can be changed (under the terms of the licenses) by everyone.
The licenses are always part of the setup files or archives.
Freeware is free but the source code is NOT available, cannot be changed and is copyright protected.
Very often Freeware is only free for private and non-commercial use.
Usually the programs on my pages are Freeware, the Open Source programs are marked with Open Source
as link to this page.
Read this Wikipedia article for more informations about Open Source.
